FILESOFT RECEIPT CORRECTIONS
Version 0.1.0 | Local owner review | 27 October 2026

Correct a mistaken delivery without deleting its history.

This standalone, single-user teaching file uses one fixed purchase order:
PO-001, Cedar Office Supplies, 10 desk lamps. It does not modify Purchase Desk.
Use fictional data only. No plugins or network connection are needed.

OPEN THE EXAMPLE
Unzip the package to a writable local folder and open the .fmp12 file in
FileMaker Pro. Use FileMaker Pro 26 for this review. The scripts require
transaction support introduced in FileMaker Pro 19.6; compatibility with
other versions and platforms has not been tested.
If an account prompt appears, use Admin with an empty password.
Click Load example to initialize the workspace. On later openings, click
Load example again to refresh the display. It preserves all saved history.

MAIN EXERCISE
1. Enter reference R001 and quantity 6. Click Post receipt.
Expected: active received 6, outstanding 4; one saved receipt.
2. Click Post receipt again with the same inputs.
Expected: Already saved. No additional receipt or quantity.
3. Click Review beside R001. Enter a reason such as
"Entered 6 by mistake; the delivery contained 4 lamps."
   Click Reverse receipt.
Expected: active received 0, outstanding 10; R001 remains as Reversed.
The saved details include the original receipt ID, time, reversal ID,
   reversal time and reason.
4. Click Reverse receipt again.
Expected: Already reversed. No additional reversal; the saved reason
   is unchanged.
5. Enter a new reference R002 and quantity 4. Click Post receipt.
Expected: active received 4, outstanding 6. Both original receipts
remain, with R001 reversed and R002 active.

ALSO CHECK
- Try quantity 7 while only 6 remain outstanding: reject without saving.
- Try a blank reference, zero, a negative quantity or a fractional quantity:
reject without saving. Entry fields should remain available to correct.
- Try R002 with a different quantity: reject; do not edit the saved receipt.
- Try reusing reversed reference R001: reject; corrections use new references.
- Review active R002 and try reversing with a blank reason: reject.
- Reasons must contain 1 to 240 characters after trimming.
- Clear drafts clears only the entry fields. It never removes history.
- Review selects that row and clears any unsaved reversal reason.
- Close and reopen the file, click Load example, and check that saved
  receipts and reversals remain.

RULES AND LIMITS
References use 1 to 24 letters, digits or hyphens. Letters are normalized
to uppercase. Quantities are whole numbers from 1 to 10, limited by the
outstanding amount. One full reversal is allowed per receipt; a correction
is a new receipt with a new reference. Partial reversals are outside scope.

The exercise allows six saved receipts so that the full receipt list stays
visible. Reversals do not remove receipts or recover that six-receipt limit.
For a fresh exercise, extract another copy from the original ZIP into a
separate folder; do not overwrite an open or edited copy.

This demonstrates a workflow, not inventory valuation, supplier returns,
accounting entries, multiuser concurrency or a tamper-proof audit system.
The file is editable for learning; its controls are not a security boundary.

REVIEW STATUS
Generated with Claris FMUpgradeTool 26.0.2.219. Structural XML roundtrip
checks passed. A separate closed inspection copy passed the FileMaker
consistency check with 0 bad blocks. These checks do not establish native
visual or interaction correctness. Owner testing is still pending.

This is a local review example. The article and public download have not
been published as part of this preparation.
